2008 Trail Work - Chief Tecumseh

Tecumseh (March 1768 – October 5, 1813), also Tecumtha or Tekamthi, was a famous Native American leader of the Shawnee. He spent much of his life attempting to rally various Indian tribes in a mutual defense of their lands, which eventually led to his death in the War of 1812.

Chief Tecumseh Trail, formerly known as the fence line trail, was repaired last year.  As you can see in the photo to the right the trail is worn down by the ATV traffic.  The track caused by the ATVs is lower than the water diverters resulting in ran water running straight down the hill eroding the trail as it goes.  The trail needed to be graded and the water diverters dug down below the trail again.

As shown in the two photos on the left, the rain water will now be diverted away from the trail.  Over time the trail will wear down again resulting in the need for touching up the trail but between now and then - Happy Trails.
